CANDY
& METALLIC
COLOR PAINT KITS
If you don't see what you
need.............................e-mail me.
I am offering paint kits for the
Early 70's Honda's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's and Suzuki's. Perfect
matches for the non-existent Candy and Metallic Colors that make or break
a restoration effort. These colors have been elusive
as Candy paints are not that popular these days, but I've
managed to get the most popular colors matched and I am offering them in a kit along with the proper base color
and catalyst that
creates the original look of the bikes. E-mail me for
more information. The paint is Deltron PPG DBC. If you don't see your color listed
below and have a good representative part, I can do the
matching process and provide you with the paint.
Please be aware that the only shipping option for paint is
via FedEx ground. Unfortunately, that means no
International shipping. You get all the necessary
materials to use or give to your painter with the exception
of the primer and reducer. I can also supply the black
or white paint for stripes, as well as the reducer if
requested.

DISCLAIMER: I have bought many NOS
parts painted in the Candy Colors. I can personally
tell you that there are discrepancies in the lightness / darkess
of the parts. Candy Colors are Transparent, and that
means that the more coats you apply, the less of the base
coat you see through it and therefore it will appear
darker. I always recommend that you paint an entire
body kit at the same time or make sure that you have the
original piece next to your painter and ask him to be sure
not to put too many coats on before checking for a match.
Also, anytime there is the existence of a Candy in any of
the formula's, a catalyst or 'hardener' must be used.
Painting with this type of paint is best left to a
professional. Even some of the non-candy colors have
an element of candy in them, such as the Light Ruby Red that
came on the SL70 K0's and the SL175K1.

XL350 & XL250 Body Kits
I am offering paint kits for the
Early 70's Honda's where Silver was the prominent
color. Honda pretty much used 1 mix of silver for many
years and it probably extends to even more models than I
have listed above.
Perfect
matches for the silver paint used on frames, swingarms,
brackets and many of the body kits for the Elsinores and
MR's. This paint is a high grade automotive Base Coat
/ Clear Coat mixed and packaged in aerosol cans. The
paint is Deltron PPG and I have gotten great results as you
can see from the picture of the bike frame
above.
The Silver
color used by Honda is difficult to match in that it has a
very low content of metallic, but yet it is a pure silver
color. I experimented with just about every can of
over the counter silver available and although I got close,
it wasn't until this effort that it really came out right.
This kit
consists of one can of the silver and one can of the
clear. The can of clear is oversized and can provide
enough clear for about 2 cans of the silver.

I

I have a very limited
supply of original Honda paint in Cloud Silver. This
was the original color and paint used by Honda in the 60's
through the early 70's for all their silver needs. It
is the silver on Z50 K0 fenders, the silver on MR50 and
other Elsinore tanks and fenders. It is also the
silver used on Z50 and CT70 wheels. This paint is
fairly expensive, but it is spot on. $35 can.
